Eco-Sensibility

Esoteric Body has an eco-sensibility our clients’ value.

Being the leader in quality, design, and research of Hardwood Jewelry we feel that we must set an example for the rest to follow. Beginning in 2008 we will expand our use of FSC Certified Wood and SmartWood. From our inception we have utilized rediscovered Chechen, and Granadillo, up to 1” and we will soon expand to include a few other species and sizes including Katalox and Chakte Kok.

While we recognize the fact that this process takes time, we also recognize that we must start now so that these small ripples will eventually turn into waves. We will continue purchasing FSC certified species and reclaimed wood whenever possible and after closely reviewing the IUCN Red Lists’ Endangered, Critically Endangered, Extinct in the Wild, and Extinct species we will be discontinuing of some of the species that we currently use due to their classification on this list.

Wenge (Millettia laurentii) IUCN Endangered A1cd

While we will try to find sustainable substitutes for these woods, this may not be possible and we hope you will understand and support this decision.

Eco-Restoration

We will be donating a portion of the profits from our products to the Arbor Day Foundation, Rain Forest Rescue, and Rainforest Alliance thus helping to replant our forests, help preserve the existing rainforests, and promote education. This will, over time, result in thousands of trees being planted per year and help preserve our dwindling rain forests.
